Today had been a rough day to be honest. First she had to deal with fighting children. Then she had to deal with the memories of said children. There hadn't been murders, but it was no less harsh. She hated her power sometimes. She really really did. She didn't want to know about one's private life. She didn't want to know about the little lies they told. She hated losing herself. She hated more and more personas being stuffed within her head.
And so she was home, or as close to home as she could be. She couldn't exactly retire for the night, not while part of the Circo was in chaos. So she was sprawled on her couch in her room, arm draped across her eyes, repeating the memories she knew to be true. "My name is Aveira Sterling, I am head of security of Circo Phantasia, I was born to take people's sins, I hate my life." And again. It helped keep her grounded while memories swirled around her mind.
She didn't hate her life, of course. She had so much going for her. She had friends, she had family, she had a-. Well, she had someone she really cared for. And she had a home and a job and she was honestly needed here. She didn't hate her life, not completely. She just hated parts of it.

[atrb=border,0,true][bg=eeeeee][atrb=width,500,true] NEVER FORGET, NEVER REGRET — THAT ISOLATED SHELL OF PROTECTION EXISTS NEVERMORE. WORDS Ain't nobody got time to count. MUSE Small actions, make small posts. So sorry! TAGGEDNuri NOTES Sorry it is so short Yuzki pulled on his favorite tail-coat and clicked in the gold chain for his pocket watch. He flatted out the wrinkles, and made his way through the halls of the manner. The wooden panels clicked under his feet, and the dim lights swung in a breeze. The gothic style manner was also home to Yuzki, except he"slept" here more during the day than the night. Vampires didn't really sleep, they didn't need it. Only when they were on the brink of starvation were they really tired.Night was his preferred time, as all vampires had trained themselves to do. The Master had been cared to like always, dinner and tea, and he made his way through the halls checking on the other staff to make sure they were situated. He probably had to work an early morning shift later, basically standing watch to the circus. He could climb all the way up to the top of the circus tent and look out, and it was beautiful. It was one of the great positions of the security. Down the hallways he want, the doors looked like a hotel set up. When he came to Aveira's door, he paused. He could already tell she was inside, and he wondered if he should knock, the vibes coming from the door were not happy ones, they were a bit depressed, or more like tired. "Greetings Miss Sterling, is all well?" The vampire called through the door, knocking slightly with a gentle hand. TEMPLATE BY SAMARECARM OF OTE + BTN

Did she really expect to be alone for long? There were always people around at the Circo, both a blessing and a curse. But this was Yuzki. Yuzki wasn't a problem, so long as he wasn't pulling her out to deal with more hormonal children, and he didn't seem to be. He had probably just picked up on her emotions. He was sweet like that. If he knew what had happened, there was no telling what would happen.
Maybe he would hold her close, like when that poison had made her sick. That would be nice, right?
But he probably had guard duty. Both of them tended to be busy. Really, that was all they ever did. Work work work. Give their everything for the Circo because the Circo would give everything it could for them. That was the deal, and she was happy with it. She really was. This was her family, her home. And it would be until she found her place in the world, if she hadn't already.
Or until her powers drove her mad.
What would Yuzki do then? She shouldn't have been so kind to him. There were a handful of Oddities she was truly kind to, that she let into her life, and she really shouldn't have. She was setting them up for a world of pain later. And Yuzki? He stood to lose the most. She was a cruel and heartless woman. She really was.
Aveira finally stood up, her hand trailing against the wall as she made her way to the door. She didn't want to fall and have him rushing in. She made it without incident though, and opened the door. As usual, he was given a smile. "I'm fine Yuzki. I took a kid's memories on accident trying to break up a fight. I'm just off balance."

[atrb=border,0,true][bg=eeeeee][atrb=width,500,true] NEVER FORGET, NEVER REGRET — THAT ISOLATED SHELL OF PROTECTION EXISTS NEVERMORE. WORDS A pathetic 251 MUSE Having trouble jumping into Yuzki's character. TAGGED Nuri NOTES Despite what Yuzki likes to think, I think he still views humans as food. Yuzki almost considerd going to get tea for her, tea solved everything to humans it seemed. Blood solved most things for vampires, it was rather pathetic. They were just above average animals if one were to think about it. They would die if they couldn't feed enough, and it was all they were designed to do. They would be extinct if it hasn't been for their intelligent brains. They were bred from the same species many years ago, they just branched off instead. There were many more humans, and while Vampires should have risen up, they rose down. Yuzki waited for the door to open fully, his hands behind his back. His black hair falling in a locks around his face, a few strands curling at the end. The rest was bundled into a long-pony tail, tied away by a red, silk, tie. When he sniffed the air, he caught the human sent of illness, a rather rancid smell to an animal. He was always happy, if happy was the right word, to see her. "Well that isn't any good." Yuzki said with a small frown and "hm". He saw her problem as a sort of obstacle, one she just merely needed to get over. "You could really use with a laugh once in a while Miss Sterling." Yuzki said tapping his chin slightly, and thinking it all over matter-of-factly, as if it wasn't obvious enough to him. TEMPLATE BY SAMARECARM OF OTE + BTN

She needed to laugh. She absorbed dark memories, lost herself while doing so, and had to spend hours remembering what was her and what was not, and his solution was laughter. Really? Really and truly? Had it come from anyone else, she would have slammed the door in their face. Yuzki though? He got a smile. She smiled a little, and looked away. "I don't think laughter can fix my problems, Yuzki. And not much makes me laugh anyway." She really didn't do laughter. Or happiness. Or, really, any good emotion. She felt pride, and loyalty, and things like that, but happy?
There was only one real memory she could remember being happy, and it wasn't one she was allowed to have. It was hers, but... She wasn't allowed to feel that way. Not with Yuzki, not with anyone. It would only rip apart those she claimed to care for. Besides, love was a foolish emotion. It was a foolish emotion and she refused to feel it. She had just been weak-willed back then, recovering from the poison.
She was levelheaded now. She knew right from wrong, and the words that passed her pale lips were definitely wrong. "Where...are you going? Would you mind if I joined you?" She was going to pay for that. Maybe not now, maybe not for a few years, but when she was chained in the jail and stark-raving mad, she would pay.

[atrb=border,0,true][bg=eeeeee][atrb=width,500,true] NEVER FORGET, NEVER REGRET — THAT ISOLATED SHELL OF PROTECTION EXISTS NEVERMORE. WORDS 262 MUSE I wish I had more words to say! TAGGED Nuri NOTES Lots of room for plots. Yuzki could sense the pain she felt, as he always did. While it was disconcerting, it was not anything he could not handle. The pain of absorbing others pain was a different feeling in oneself. He remembered as sharp as it just happened when she allowed him to feed. A human had allowed a vampire to fully feed, that was like a zebra offering themselves up to a lion. It was unheard of, not only because vampires kept themselves hidden. He had shared an empathy bond with her, a way for him to feel her whenever and wherever he wanted. It was originally a tracking system for vampires to be able to stalk their prey again and again. Was that what Yuzki was really doing? Stalking human prey over and over? Sometimes he wondered. Aveira had lived life after life of torment, no wonder she had never felt happiness. Would she even allow herself to open herself up that much, he would find out? It would intrigue Yuzki, as humans like Aveira did. ”Certainly, I am just making the evening rounds. I was about to head into the night, I would enjoy some company.” In a flash he had moved off to the side, his body a simple blur of motion. The bottom of his coat flapping behind him, he spread his arm to allow her to exit if she wanted. ” I don’t really see the need to be asking permission, since you are indeed my boss.” He said with a tiny smile and a rather charming turn of the head. What was it about him? The way he spoke maybe? Or how he acted? Or was she just another silly human, trapped in the spell of his gaze? She didn't know. But when he invited her to join him, she instantly started to relax. Her mind finally settled down for a reason she would never really understand. She didn't want to understand it either. It would break the delicate thing they had, shred it like a butterfly's wing. And then what would she do? All she would truly have would be the Circo and Alistair, just as it once was. She didn't want to go back to that. She really didn't.
"I was not asking as your boss." This was so unequal, in so many ways. She was his boss, and her commands weighed nearly as heavily as Alistair's. He had even obeyed them when drunk, or at least tried to. And yet, when it came to strength alone, Yuzki was her better. He could kill her with a speed even time could not match. Nano-seconds and she would be his food. And yet...maybe it was that strength, that speed, that attracted her.
If she ever lost her mind...would he kill her? Would he do what needed to be done? Save her from the pain that was sure to follow if Alistair chained her in the jail or she did true harm to the Circo? He had swore to her that the Circo always came first, and she had done the same.
Had Yuzki truly lost control that night...would she have killed him?
No. The answer was clear, almost echoing in her mind. No, she wouldn't kill him. She would let the Circo fall.
She was a foolish young woman.
Aveira stepped out of her room, closing the door softly behind her. Then she did something she rarely ever did. A gift, an offering. She held her hand out to him, as if for him to hold as they walked. She didn't know what drove her to do it. She almost never did. Her powers, her past, and their memories normally made her shy away from any kind of touch. Even Alistair got a flinch once in awhile, though he never really did touch her. And yet, there she was. Offering her hand. She was asking him to join her, to be closer than she let anyone ever be. She was trusting him, not even thinking to ask if he had sinned since she took his memories. A thousand and one meanings all wrapped up in a little motion.

Yuzki smiled, showing no teeth. It was merely a signature snake grin. He smiled as he she saw she was coming with him. Yuzki was a confusing thing. Maybe it was because he wasn't human, he didn't think human. Sometimes he tried too, but he rather look at Aveira through his own eyes than a pair of human eyes. Maybe that was what drove him to become closer to her. Maybe it was what stopped him from killing her when he so wanted to. He could never forget the urge he felt when he had fed upon her near a year ago. A year to a vampire was very small compared to a human-their lifespan was greatly increased, and maybe it was because they were already part dead in a way. They didn't have a heart beat if one were to place their hand over their chest, yet if stabbed of harmed they felt pain, and bled.
He laughed lightly, his head leaning back slightly, hair draping over his face. "Yes, I know you weren't." It was a mere tease, and little tug at the rope.
When she offered him her had he paused. He just stood there, smiling with lazy eyes down at her. He was quite tall, and tended to lean over others without meaning too. Yuzki wore no gloves on his this night, he did not need to. He knew this gesture was a big gift, for she was sacrificing so much more than just using her power, she was sacrificing her sanity. A warm glow, one that vampire's shouldn't feel often happened. Yuzki reached out, his nails were long, pointed and naturally black. It was creepy and a bit gruesome to some. Well if he sinned it wouldn't be horrible, even if he did it would be more amusing. Though what if he sinned and truly thought it was okay, would that make it sin? The thought crossed his meaning briefly. "Shall we go onwards?"

With the simple touch, all her questions went away. The chaos in her mind, like a thousand hummingbirds of memories, they settled down. She could think clearly and it actually showed as her eyes grew brighter. This, this was what she liked about him. It wasn't his darkness, the danger. She had plenty of that in her own silly mind. It wasn't even the empathy bond, not really. Sure his entire being was built in such a way to trap silly prey like her... but that wasn't it. It really wasn't.
It was moments like this. When they could talk without saying a word, how he seemed to understand her before even she herself did. She was safe with him, and she always would be. She was safe physically of course. She had yet to meet an oddity who could match a vampire's strength or speed. She could protect herself of course, even with the restraining scars and ghosts of past injuries, but it was still nice to feel as though she wouldn't /need/ to protect herself.
But no, it was the other thing he did. She wasn't sure if he knew it, but more often than not it was him who brought her back to sanity. Maybe it was because she opened up to him, she still didn't know exactly why she had, but her memories of him where far stronger than any others. They burned brightly in her mind and gave her something to latch to when the chaos reared it's head. When she'd taken his sins, the first time she'd ever touched without harm, when she'd let him feed, their first kiss, the late night strolls and snuggles...
Even this moment when she was just holding his hand. It was all there and always would be. It was her little red thread. It tied their two hearts together, and she used it to find herself more than he'd ever really realize.
Aveira smiled slightly, squeezing his hand. "Lead the way"

Yuzki felt a small smile play around his thin lips. The fangs poking through his lips, what marked who he was. His eyes were lazy, and the red was warm and hypnotizing. The naturally narrowed eyes taking all of her in. He gave her hand a small squeeze, his pale skin a stark white, and the black nails carefully folded against hers. Yes, Yuzki would protect her, he would be sure of it. Even if he lost control, even if he hurt her or someone, he would always continue to protect her. Even if she couldn't stand to be in his presence, their lives were fragile. It was like walking over broken glass. It was always dangerous for a human to fall in love with a vampire, and it was dangerous for a vampire to fall for a human. It wasn't natural, it should be wrong. Yet it happened, and it happened a lot. Yuzki never did fall in with the other vampires, it was clear when he killed the first human. He wouldn't kill Aveira, or would he? Yuzki would risk it, because for once he had found someone who had seen his deepest, and dark past. She knew everything, and on a much deeper scale than anyone could realize. Yuzki nodded, and turned taking her with him to the exit. He walked normally, for speeding down the hall might not be the best idea for a human. He wondered what would happen if he took off running with Aviera, would her body hold up? He reached the exit, and opened the beautiful, old, gothic doors. The humid, summer air washed over the two of them, it caused Yuzki's coat to flap out gently, before falling flat. The stars twinkled ahead, bright and beautiful. A few lights danced on campus. It was a beautiful night, as always here at Circo. The night was a wonderful time for Yuzki, when everything was asleep and peaceful. There was so much to do, he was alive. She enjoyed this silence. With even the Ringmaster she would feel a little awkward without conversation of some sort, but... With Yuzki it felt right. He was obviously keeping a humanish pace for her but she didn't dwaddle. She kept pace with him, very nearly stepping perfectly in time with him. She walked through the halls of her home without any real thought, seemingly her entire being focused on the feel of his cool skin against hers.
And then they were outside. The night, the most peaceful and beautiful time of the day. She wasn't a vampire of course, so she could not claim the night as her own, but she could still appreciate it's beauty. Everything she knew, the world she knew, was settling down to sleep. What did the world look like to Yuzki? Was it any different to him? The absorbed warmth being released from the earth, the stars twinkling above, the lights of Circo slowly going out one by one. What did the world look like for him?
What did...she look like to him? She knew he had amazing vision and hearing, if not touch as well. Why did the sight of her scars not turn him away? The quiet stutter of her still freaked out heart? The strange feel of her callous skin?
What she wouldn't give to be in his head. Though, maybe, the mystery was part of what drew her in. He wasn't human and didn't think like one. She didn't have to fear him, fear what he would do to her. Not while he was in control at least.
And even when he was in bloodlust, did she truly fear him?
"It's a beautiful night tonight."
