Full name: Alistair Bellerophon Pyrewick
Titles: He is the Ringmaster. He prefers to be referred to as just that.
DoB/Age: Alistair, despite his worn expression and underwhelming stature, is the ripe age of twenty-two. He was born on an autumn's eve on the Halloween of nineteen ninety-three.
Gender: He is unquestionably a male.
Oddity: He holds the curse of his forefathers who have long since passed. With each generation the beast inside grows stronger, passing itself on to the son of the deceased father. The beast itself is the embodiment of childhood fear. It unleashes itself on nights of the new moon as it sets out to devour the sanity of its victim. What is this beast? It is the monster under your bed. It is the creature lurking in the closet. It is the breath that seeps down your neck as you wait in an insomnia-induced panic, praying to whatever you can that the darkness of your midnight soaked room does not consume you. The creature inside of him goes by many names- but none more so than the Bogeyman.
Abilities: In his 'human' form, Alistair possesses a fair amount of abilities that are ultimately used to aid his occupation. The first of which is that his body can dissipate into an evanescence, ultimately aiding him with swift travel. He can only use this ability during the night, as its true purpose is to allow him to blend into his surroundings. His second ability is mind erasing. As learned, oddities who do not wish to stay with the circus will have their memories wiped to their life before ever coming across Circo. He does not like performing this, but it is a necessary evil.
His third and final ability is as mentioned- his 'true' form. The new moon each month brings out the creature locked inside him. During that night his normal disposition is shattered through the insane instincts that his creature brings forth, as if his mind becomes split in two. He transforms back at dawn with both exhaustion from the struggle to keep himself in control and rejuvenation due to the fact that he had just 'fed'.
Appearance: For being the bearer of paranoia, he is awfully small. He only stands at five foot five, and weighs a mere ninety-five pounds. Just by a sideways glance it is clear that he appears to be anything but human. His skin, for starters, is pure white. Not pale, not albino- Just a pure alabaster. His skin is flawless, too. No imperfection, no facial hair, no scars, nothing. His short, curly hair is the same color as his perfect skin, white as virgin snow. The darkest feature about him is his crimson eyes, a single discoloration against the otherwise blank palate. There is something distorted about him however: his right sclera. He keeps this covered when associating with most oddities, so it is somewhat a mystery as to what lies beneath the tufts of his colorless locks.
Attire: In keeping with his circus' traditional atmosphere and his aristocratic background, Alistair does not dress as a young adult in the twenty-first century should. He adorns himself in a polished and pressed tuxedo suit, complete with coat tails and a bow tie. It is usually opened partially to reveal a white dress shirt, held together by black buttons. There is not a single color on his outfit, right down to his silk gloves, shined shows and top hat. He takes his work particularly seriously, so why not reflect that with his attire of choice?
As for his performance attire, his black suit jacket is replaced with a similar crimson one, the accents upon it replaced with gold rather than white. His usual button-up white shirt is covered by a vest, also gold in coloration. Dress pants are replaced with a substitute that is slightly more durable yet still crisp, now tucked into knee-length riding boots. He wears another top hat that is much smaller than the original, also adorned with a gold ribbon. During the actual performance, Alistair keeps a whip holstered to a belt securing his pants, as well as a walkie-talkie in case there would be mishaps.
Detailed personality: During his performances, Alistair is exactly what would be expected of as the master of his circus. He is boisterous, energetic, and knows exactly how to please the crowd. He does not possess an ounce of stage fright, nor does he feel pressure under reasonably tight situations. He can pull off this outward appearance because he is aware of how much is at stake. When Alistair is not in front of a crowd, however, he is a whole different person.
It is a rarity for him to leave his office. Due to how much energy he puts out during his main occupation, he prefers to be sheltered inside in the safety of his own room. He does not like face to face confrontation with his family even if he wants it. Being calm in front of a large crowd is a cinch for him. Keeping his calm exterior when confronted alone, however, is a different story. Because of his anxiety to face others but unwillingness to show weakness, he tends to be slightly unnerving. To put it bluntly, he tries so much to remain a blank slate that he becomes downright creepy. He rarely smiles on his own and speaks in a small yet abnormally smooth voice. It is rare for him to get irritated, which is due to his fortunate patience with others. When he does however it becomes clear how hard he tries to keep himself from cracking his facade. He becomes unstable and represses himself as if he were to go into a spasm. Which, if he gets pushed past his destined limit, he breaks out in. He does not think rationally during his explosion and it requires a lot of time for him to properly cool down. After these episodes he usually goes into a guilted relapse, which brings forth yet another side out of him. His mind is eerily innocent for his age- Whenever he does something that makes him feel remorse he usually acts more like a scared child than an adult. This is not to say he is immature, oh no. Despite all his flaws, there is some good traits that can be apparent when he is alone.
Alistair is as mentioned very mature. He knows his responsibilities and always puts them in front of his own health. His circus means everything to him, which is why he tries so hard to appear to be the strong figure that the circus needs to survive with. He also is more lenient and kind when it comes to punishments, as opposed to his father, the former leader of the circus. His heart is also trying to be in the right place. He values kindness, chivalry, (he is very much a gentleman) and a good friend. Alistair is also a decently classy man- He enjoys the finer endeavors in life without being snooty about it. He values knowledge and is quite the brilliant man, though he keeps this to himself. Over all he tries his best to be the best he can be. For him, this is unfortunately easier said than done.
Birthplace: Born and raised within the walls of Circo Phantasia.
History: Since as far back as recorded history of the Pyrewick family goes, Circo Phantasia had always been ruled by the Pyrewick family, each generation bringing forth a new son to take over the reigns. As time went on, success has flowed the family's way, each generation gaining more wealth through business and industry. Each generation, however, has also been given the curse of the bearer of fear. Those destined to inherit the curse are born devoid of color, and will receive their punishment after the former father dies. Not much else is known about the curse itself... Not even the members of the circus know exactly what the Pyrewicks are. It is the family's best kept secret.
As for Alistair, he had never known his mother. She had been killed in childbirth, thus leaving his father to care for the child himself. Alistair had been raised under an iron fist so to say. His father did not show much care for him and only raised him with the mentality that he would one day own the circus. He spent most of his childhood in his room due to his father not wanting him to risk temptation of rebellion. Alistair was not allowed to think outside of his natural born duty and was raised thinking that he had no other purpose in life... Besides being used to 'feed' his father. He learned early on in life to dread the monster that possessed his father and would one day possess him. That day came shortly after Alistair's eighteenth birthday when his father fell fatally ill. On his last breath the monster had possessed Alistair's body, thus naming him the next in line for the Bogeyman's curse. At the same time he had taken over the circus, where he holds the lead position to this day.
Occupation: He is the ringmaster of the Circo. Not only does he direct the audience's attention to certain acts during the performances, he owns the circus itself and is charged with making sure that everything runs smoothly.
Relationship status/Orientation: Single, heterosexual
Additional information: More will be added to this sheet as time goes on.
